Our Mission Statement

AFA is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization created to promote ethical, compassionate treatment of all animals through a variety of means including:

• Educating and increasing the awareness of the public on matters relating to the ethical treatment of animals and the philosophy of animal rights
• Bringing to public attention situations of animal abuse and exploitation
• Encouraging and supporting the efforts of pro-animal individuals and groups throughout the state
• Promoting ethical and humane legislation and administrative policy affecting non-human animals.

AFA makes every attempt to provide accurate information, to be approachable to the general public, to advocate for non-violence and respect, to serve as role models with respect to our views on antivivisection and veganism. AFA employs one part-time paid employee and strives to run the organization as financially responsible and efficiently as possible with the use of its volunteers, members, and donors. AFA is environmentally conscious and believes in acting locally to make change globally.
