A new bill is being introduced that would lower the number of animals killed by government agencies after they have been used in labs. This bill has been introduced by Representatives Brendan Boyle, (D-PA), and Jackie Walorski, (R-IN), and would require all government agencies to come up with guidelines for what happens to animals experimented on in federal labs after they are finished being used. The bill only includes animals that are already protected under the federal Animal Welfare Act.

Currently almost all animals used in government labs are killed when they are through being experimented on such as, the USDA, the CDC, the FDA, and many more. Please call or email your congressperson to tell them you support this bill. Let them know there are many people who would care for these animals. Look up your representatives here.
